Today, January 28 at around 7 in the morning, after the flag ceremony, I, along with my fellow SEA teachers who were assigned to SMA Negeri 2 Madiun, were finally introduced to all of the students of the school. We were accompanied by Ibu Sri Lestari and Septy Okta, our buddy.
Indeed, I was overwhelmed with the big number of students studying in the school. I was so astonished as the liveliness of the students in showing their excitement even surpassed my enthusiasm. This even made me feel more excited to meet the students inside the classrooms. After a while, we were toured around the school by Shafan, Aurel, and Laila, Grade 11 students.
Afterwhich, we were invited to go to the teachers’ office, and there we met and greeted all of the staffs and teachers of the school. Due to their warm smiles, and for being able to show their interests to us, SEA teachers, I knew that we would be in good hands.
As we were able to go home around lunch time, we decided to go in the city.
For the first time, we went to the traditional market where we get to see many Indonesian products like batik and different kinds of foods.
Second, we went to Lawu Plaza where we finally had a familiar meal – a meal from KFC.
And third, we went to Plaza Madiun, which it took us only few minutes to reach the place. We then bought things for us to be ready to continue the SEA teacher experiences journey!
